David Meyer founded Lynceus with Guglielmo Montone in 2020, with the ambition to build a comprehensive operating system for high value manufacturing. David focuses on assembling a world class team and gathering the resources necessary to support the Lynceus vision and effectively deploy AI in today’s most challenging industrial environments. Prior to Lynceus, David held various Ops leadership positions in companies like Uber and Circ (acquired by Bird), and advised investment funds on the acquisition of industrial companies. David holds an MSc from ESSEC Business School (France).

Guglielmo Montone

Guglielmo Montone founded Lynceus with David Meyer in 2020, with the ambition to build a comprehensive operating system for high value manufacturing. Guglielmo focuses mainly on defining a clear product vision, gathering tech talents for our team, and building ML modeling techniques to develop the most robust and accurate models on the market. Guglielmo has a master in physics and a PhD and post-doc in computer science. His post-doc was focused on transfer learning techniques for deep neural networks and one of his architecture was re-used by Google DeepMind. Guglielmo has previously launched another company in the space of AI for semiconductor manufacturing.

Carl McMahon

Carl McMahon is a seasoned executive with a demonstrated history of working across all areas of semiconductor manufacturing including leadership roles in sales, marketing, organizational change, and new product introductions. Carl comes to Lynceus from Brooks Automation where he was in a senior director role. Prior to that he held multiple roles at Genmark Automation, ultimately serving as President and EVP of global operations. He has held a variety of positions with RED Equipment, Crossing Automation, and Novellus, having started his career as an engineer at HP. McMahon holds a BTEC in electrical engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a BSc Science in economics and technology from The Open University.

Vlad Luzin is the VP of Product & Engineering and leads product management, engineering, and research departments. Vlad has extensive experience in building and growing high-performance organizations delivering products across customer engagement, fintech, and telecom industries. Most recently, Vlad was VP of Platform Services & AI at Verint, a global leader in customer engagement analytics. Prior to Verint, Vlad was Director of Product & Engineering at CME Group, having also worked at NEX Group and Samsung Research. Vlad holds an MBA in Finance from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bar Ilan University, Israel.

Asmahe Maadi

Asmahe Maadi
VP Corporate Affairs & Finance
Asmahe Maadi is VP of Corporate affairs and Finance, leading the finance, HR, legal and admin functions. Asmahe has a wealth of experience in finance, with over 12 years in the industry. She holds a Master’s degree in finance and accounting from Paris Business School in France and Singapore. Asmahe has international experience, having worked for multinational corporations in the past. In her last experience prior to Lynceus, she specialized in the SaaS startup sector 8 years and has played a key role in the success story of Kpler, where she served as the global head of finance. Kpler is now a leading player in the data and analytics space for commodities.

Mike Chalfen

Mike Chalfen
Mike Chalfen operates as a solo VC investing in software-driven businesses that can grow and dominate new and often unusual markets. His solo practice frees Mike to collaborate closely with the entrepreneurs who choose to work with him.
In addition to his investment in Lynceus, in the last few years Mike has backed emerging winners like Lokalise, Reveal, and Tray.io, and many other incredibly ambitious startups, often based on novel applications of AI. Having invested early in many unicorns such as Illumio, King.com, Snyk and Tipalti, Mike was included at number six in Forbes’ first Midas List Europe.

Ariel Meyuhas

Ariel Meyuhas
Ariel is a co-founder and a chief operating officer of The MAX Group – A global leader in Fab operational consulting. With over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, he brings vision, innovation, strong relationships and connections with his clients, and an attitude for being the best at what he does. His role as an industry executive has been focused on leading teams with energy and passion to turnaround and transform semiconductor companies and factories resulting in huge financial returns. Since his work has taken him all over the world helping his client overcome strategic and tactical problems repeatedly, he currently serves on a few boards of leading companies and is a member of SEMI’s Fab Owners Alliance Governing Council taking part in shaping a future roadmap of legacy Fabs. He holds a Masters degree in engineering management from the Ohio State University and a B.Sc. IE from the Tel Aviv University. Outside work, Ariel is an avid autorsport enthusiast, and he practices CrossFit, skiing and practical shooting to keep in shape!

Paul Sura

Paul Sura
Paul is an accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years of success in the semiconductor industry. Throughout his executive career, Paul has held leadership positions with Global Foundries, Cypress Semiconductor, Maxim Integrated, Micron Technologies, and Intel Corporation. His broad areas of expertise include S&OP, ERP & APS implementation, logistics, LRP, demand forecasting, cycle time reduction, delivery analytics, agile systems development, acquisition/integration, and capacity/capital management. One of Paul’s accomplishments that he is most proud of is his leading of the construction of Intel’s capacity and capital system, which he received the Intel Achievement Award – Intel’s highest honor. Paul is a recognized industry and supply chain expert having been a speaker at various conferences, quoted in publications like the Wall Street Journal & Financial Times, and an advisor to startup companies.
Paul was born and raised in Wisconsin. Paul attained his bachelors os science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Upon graduation, Paul moved to California to start his semiconductor career. Paul has five children: Tyler (30), Amanda (27), Brandon (9), Nathan (7), and Justin (5). Paul is active with his kids activities, which include Tae Kwon Do, football, baseball, golf, and robotics. When Paul can break free, he is also an avid photographer.

Christine Lindsley

Chris is a seasoned executive leader with a solid blend of strategic and business insight, cross functional experience, unique perspectives, and influential leadership with 25+ years of repeated success at multiple high-tech companies (Intel, Cisco, ServiceNow). She is recognized for her leadership and developing high-performing teams with amazing cultures. Her professional and personal motivation is to serve and help others unleash their greatest potential. She has a passion to solve the big problems, make a positive impact, and build frameworks to scale the business. She brings perspectives from her experiences with complex problem solving at the enterprise level as well as with many functions – manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, IT, quality, and with customer support. When faced with a challenge, she is known for proactively problem finding and strategically driving cutting edge solutions with excellence. With her curiosity and use of data, she is able to chip away at those big problems. Through context, knowledge, and her experience, she can see how all the pieces come together – people, process, tools – for efficiency and an improved customer and employee experience. She brings balance and harmony. She leads with integrity and empathy. Chris holds a MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from St. Thomas University (course work through Stanford University) and BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Mark Redford

Mark Redford
Mark has held roles as VP Emerging Technologies at Arm, GM of North American Operations and VP of Advanced Technology at CSR, and BOD positions at GSS, Surecore and Spin Memory. Alongside his role as an advisor at Lynceus, he currently serves on the BOD of Agile Analog, and is an advisor to several companies in the fabless space including AI/ML, High Reliability and Solar Energy fields.

Alessandro Piovaccari

Alessandro Piovaccari
Alessandro Piovaccari is currently Adjunct Professor in the MSEE program at the University of Bologna. He is the VP of Conferences for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, a board member CTO Council of the Global Semiconductor Alliance, and the Center for Leadership Education at the Johns-Hopkins University, an advisor for the Berkeley Skydeck and Silicon Catalyst startup incubators. He is also part of the technical advisory board of several semiconductor startups.
He has more than 25 years of technical and management experience in the semiconductor industry, including CTO and SVP of Engineering at Silicon Labs. He co-architected and led the development of many wireless and IoT SoC’s, which have surpassed 4 billion devices shipments. Most notably, the first single-chip TV tuner IC, still used by nine of the world’s top-ten TV makers, and 80 percent market share. He has also been a long-time contributor to the IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC), covering chair positions in both the technical program and steering committees.
Alessandro received his Laurea and PhD degrees in EECS from the University of Bologna and a Post-Grad certificate (summa cum laude) in EECS from the Johns-Hopkins University. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and Lifetime Fellow of Silicon Labs. He received an IEEE SSCS award in leadership for organizing the first virtual solid-state conference. He holds 38 US patents, including a Patent of the Year award.
